OnYourBike.bike is a website dedicated to giving all South African cyclists (and those unfortunate enough to not be able to ride their bikes on the tip of Africa) a place to get some news, opinion and information on cycling.
It is in the process of being developed so please don’t judge us too harshly – yet. I had to rush this online because my weekly newspaper column, along with my fulltime job as a journalist, become endangered and I felt those loyal readers needed a place to continue reading about cycling on a weekly basis. So this is part blog, part website and is still very much in development (as is my career it seems).
We are primarily mountain bikers, but accept that our vision is not neccesarily the same as everybody else, and so our aim is to try and give anybody who enjoys riding a bicycle something new to read each and every day.
We do not care if you like a 29er, a 650B or prefer to ride a bike with 26-inch wheels … in fact you may prefer throwing your leg over a frame that is attached to little BMX wheels or skinny road bike tyres, or like having fun on a a fat-bike or prefer tri-bars spoiling the lines of your bike. Our only hope is that you find something worth thinking and talking about on our pages of cycling news, opinion and information.
We all ride bikes and love it, we hope you find our website entertaining – and maybe drop us a line to let us know what you don’t like, or what you find interesting (because we like to know that).
